Croft Cottages were a pair of ruined C17 century agricultural dwellings till the current owners rescued the building.  Set in nearly 3 acres at the top of Fromes Hill, the house has been lovingly restored using eco friendly materials such as recycled glass underfloor insulation, sheeps wool, lime and clay based products.  The building was restored with a view to making it as energy efficient as possible, given the restraints of a Grade 2 listed old timber and stone cottage.  Warning: restoration may still be work in progress!

What you can see: Solar Panels, Air Source Heat Pump, rainwater harvester, hemp lime plaster and some samples of other materials used, the fruit and vegetable garden.
